Steuben glass was handmade by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY. Steuben glass was frequently the United States' gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Steuben marketed no "seconds," items that did not meet their exacting standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben, a luxury brand and the ultimate in art glass.
